Can you think of someone who deserves an extra gift this holiday season? If you are in a position to help, it might make someone's day a little brighter to receive a gift with this free printable "A gift for you from out of the blue" tag attached.
Due to the pandemic, we are hearing that the Food Pantries are facing unprecedented demands this year. One idea would be to staple this tag onto a bag of groceries and leave them anonymously on someone's doorstep.
It is always fun to receive mail, too. My kids know about my love for Gnomes and my oldest (and his girlfriend) gave me some cute notecards for my birthday this year.
For my "out of the blue" surprise, I printed an eGift card, attached the tag, and mailed it to my kids letting them "Gnome" how much we love them.
Here is something else to think about...I watched "A Holly Dolly Christmas" this year. Dolly Parton told a story about going to church on Christmas Eve where all the adults and children typically received a little grab bag at the end of the service. One year, after they'd handed out the small presents to everyone, there wasn't a bag left for her mother.
One of the church ladies said, "Well, you won't mind, will you? You've got so many kids and they all got one anyway." Her mama said, "That's OK, I understand..."
But everybody's a kid at Christmas and Dolly saw her mama sitting on a bench silently crying afterward. When she tried to give her mama the bag she had received, her mother told Dolly she had a good heart, but she couldn't take her bag.
I think Dolly is right to remind us that everyone feels like a kid at Christmas. No matter how old you are, everyone wants to feel special...
If there is any room in your budget this holiday season, consider giving someone a little gift "from out of the blue"! 💙 Karen
