I am making little "plane-trip" treat bags for some friends who will be on vacation in late October.  Of course, I will include things like gum, mints AND some "Monster" trail mix because it goes with my theme.  This gift tag will work with whatever treats you want to include, even Monster cookies (if you are a baker).

This is the trail mix that I'm including (available at Target, etc.):

I was clicking through some of my old posts and I had linked to a cute, free printable favor tag from one of my favorite graphic designers, Lauren McKinsey.  Unfortunately, she has removed her printables, so my link was broken.

I am really having fun using Canva (try it - it's free!), so I decided to create three versions of a similar gift tag for us.  In my original post, I found little chocolate pumpkin candies that I attached as treats for my co-workers.

Example:  The tags would be cute on candy similar to these little guys from Abdallah or your favorite candy store near you.

You could also tie these onto real/fake pumpkins, pumpkin beauty products (face masks, etc.), pumpkin spice coffee... anything pumpkin!  If you are crafty, there are all kinds of cute pumpkin ideas on Pinterest.

My mom recently gave me this little pumpkin made out of an old chenille bedspread.  The tags would be cute on something like this too.

Candy Witch Broom Treat (How-To with Free Printable)

Cast a spell of excitement with this enchanting "Witch-ing You a Happy Halloween" gift tag!  Add a bewitching touch to your Halloween "broom" treats with this free printable!

Free Printable "Witch-ing You a Happy Halloween" gift tag

I purchased orange "stick candy" from the gift shop at a local Cracker Barrel restaurant.  (Check to make sure they aren't broken before you get to the register.)

Candy Witch Broom Treat

To make the broom, I simply cut a paper lunch bag into 2.5" (height) x 4" (width) pieces.  Cut evenly spaced vertical strips about 2/3 of the way up.  Start at one end and roll the paper all the way around the stick candy.  I used a small piece of tape to secure it.  Then wrap a piece of Baker's Twine around it a few times and tie it off.  Slightly spread/bend the "bristles" to make it appear more broom-like.  (You can roll them around a pencil if needed to get a slight bend.)  Simply attach the brooms to the gift tag with double-sided tape.

Candy Witch Broom Treat

Note:  I originally assumed that Cracker Barrel would have purple (grape) stick candy, so that was my original design; however when I got to the store that wasn't an option.  I was going to substitute Root Beer (for a cute brown handled broom) until my son said that kids don't really like Root Beer candy.  (Can this be true?!?  I used to love Root Beer Barrels.)  Anyway, I decided to use orange candy, but I will link up both colors to give you an option.

Note:  For the broom handle, you could also use glow sticks or pixie sticks or fun straws, use your imagination!  πŸ‘»

You've been BOO-zed (with Free Printable)

Get ready to spook-tactularly surprise your pals with this playful "You've been BOO-zed" gift tag!  Gift a bottle of their favorite "boo-ze" and attach this free printable for an extra dash of Halloween enchantment!

Free Printable You've Been BOO-zed gift tag

Note:  This is a simple black and white gift tag.  There are two (free!) sizes, one for tiny liquor bottle favors and one for regular bottles.

I think everyone has seen those cute neighborhood events on Pinterest where you "Boo" or "Elf" your neighbors.  If I understand it correctly, one neighbor leaves a gift for another.  Then that neighbor leaves a gift for a different neighbor and so on and so on.  If you've already received a gift, you leave a sign outside that says, "We've been boo-ed" so the giver knows to pick someone else. It is a cute idea, but I live in the country, so I decided to make little gag gifts for my co-workers instead!  (These would also be fun girlfriend gifts or party favors.)

I went to the liquor store and bought twelve tiny bottles of liquor.  At my store, the bottles were $1.59 each in 2015.

You've been BOO-zed (with Free Printable)

I chose Bacardi because these are for Halloween and they have a bat on the top!  (I doubt anyone will notice but me, but I do like a theme.)  πŸ˜„

You've been boo-zed (with free printable)

I actually made the tags in two sizes just in case you want to attach one to a full size bottle of liquor.  Just cut them apart and leave a small white border.  I like to punch two holes because I think they hang better.  Thread your Baker's Twine (or ribbon) through the holes and tie the tag onto your bottle (remember to knot your ends for extra cuteness).  For the small bottles, just leave a minimal white border and the boo-ze will still stand up with the tag attached.

I will say that my co-workers liked these little gifts.  The next year, we used little bottles of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky with the same tags - these were also a hit!

A "sCARE" Package for your College Student!

I saw this cute idea for Halloween themed Tic Tac labels.  (I could only find white and orange Tic Tacs, but she also has ideas for green and red ones.)  Simply cut out the labels and use a glue stick to cover the existing label.  It couldn't be easier!

The Ghost Writer Treasure Hunt

Channel your inner ghostbuster and create a fun and easy "Ghost Writer" treasure hunt for some spine-tingling Halloween fun!

Ghost Writer Treasure Hunt

For this treasure hunt, simply write a message with a sharp white crayon on a piece of white paper (press hard!).  If you sit near a bright window, you will be able to somewhat see what you are doing.

I hid a small treat (see below) and handed my kids what looked like a blank piece of paper.  They may not be able to figure out what to do next, so have fat, Crayola-type markers at the ready!  Tell them that a friendly ghost wrote them a secret message and they may need to scribble across the page to reveal it.

Note:  This also works using a white colored pencil (press hard) instead of a crayon, but it's not quite as readable.

Example:

Ghost Writer Treasure Hunt

Write some version of this message depending on where you hide your gift:

This note was written with invisible ink,
Using a ghostly color to make you think!

Now that it's solved, you'll find a reward,
Just look in the cupboard where towels are stored.

This is what the Ghost Writer brought my kids (found at Walmart, Amazon, etc.)...

Other ideas:  Ghost Peeps, Ghost Reese's, Halloween Oreos.  Be creative!
